However, after Covid-19 situation went out of control India, ICC shifted the venue to UAE and Oman. Whereas, Australia retained the hosting rights for the 2022 edition of T20 WC. ICC held a video conference with BCCI on 8th August 2020 and announced that, India will host ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in October as planned.
However, Cricket Australia backed off from organizing the tournament, after Australian Government canceled all the International Events in the country due to Covid-19. Originally the 7th edition of ICC T20 World Cup was to be held by Australia in October 2020. ICC has revealed that, the next T20 World Cup for men will be hosted by UAE and Oman From 17th October and 14th November 2021.
