In 20, the band was the headliner of the Glastonbury Festival. In 2006, the band won the Mercury Prize, the award given for best album in the UK and Ireland, and was also nominated for the prize in 20. Twice the quartet was nominated for a Grammy Award. The ensemble won seven Brit Awards: twice becoming the best group and three times for the best album of the year. The band's first album became the fastest-selling debut album in UK history. The band has released several studio albums: Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not (2006), Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Humbug (2009), Suck It and See (2011), AM (2013), Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (2018) and The Car (2022), as well as live albums Live At the Apollo (2008), Live In Wellington Town Hall (2009) and Live In The Royal Albert Hall (2020). It currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Alex Turner, guitarist Jamie Cook, drummer Matt Helders and bassist Nick O'Malley, who replaced previously played in the band Andy Nicholson, who left in 2006.
